DirtLabs is the creation of Mike Luebesmier, but just call him "Luby". Luby has been riding bikes all his life. He even rode singlespeeds before they were hip because that's all he could afford. His affinity for bikes got him working on them–a lot.
Focusing specifically on suspension started back in 2004 at the Shock Treatment Center in Minneapolis. He rebuilt and tuned Rock Shox, Manitou, Marzocchi and all the other brands of forks and shocks out there. In 2006 Luby went to work for Maverick as a technician handling suspension builds, tuning and repairs. Working directly under Maverick and Rock Shox founder Paul Turner and head machinist and engineer Frank Vogel allowed Luby to understand the ins and outs (quite literally) of performance suspension. He also helped with research and development–yup–got paid to ride.
